A few days ago, according to British media reports, during the most severe period of the epidemic, Britain’s imports from China surpassed other countries for the first time, and China became Britain’s largest source of imports for the first time.

In the second quarter of this year, 1 pound for every 7 pounds of goods purchased in the UK came from China. Chinese companies have sold 11 billion pounds worth of goods to the UK. Sales of textiles have increased significantly, such as medical masks used in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and home computers for remote work.

Previously, China was usually Britain’s second largest import partner, exporting approximately 45 billion pounds worth of goods to the United Kingdom each year, which is 20 billion pounds less than Britain’s largest import partner Germany. It is reported that a quarter of the electronic machinery products imported by the UK in the first half of this year came from China. In the third quarter of this year, Britain’s imports of Chinese clothing increased by 1.3 billion pounds.
